How People “Tweet” in China

As social networks aimed at English-speaking users have flourished, the Chinese and the Russians have been developing their own social networks that continue to grow exponentially. Instead of Facebook, Chinese users rely on Qzone, QQ will be used in lieu of Skype, and Sina Weibo (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter) is the #1 microblogging site in China (Weibo means “Microblogging” in Chinese). Just two years after its inception Sina Weibo has already attracted 200 million users.
