These are dark days, job-wise — and the deck is stacked against men, whose unemployment rates top women’s across the board. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, half of America’s jobless have been out of work for six months or more: That’s 6.6 million people, all scrambling for the same scant few positions. Of those jobless, 23% — some 3.4 million, outnumbering the entire population of Iowa — have been jobless for at least a year. Those are tough odds. How can you beat them?
